Comparing WP7 with Vista is accurate and in fact it is positive argument IMO, because it is not the 'look&feel' who made bad rep to Vista but HW issues.

Same look and feel a little bit polished in Win7 is not preventing selling of Win7 'just because it is Vista SP2'.

The artistic aspect is important but not as much as functional, so even you are right (which I don't agree :) ) and "the colors are EGA Win 3.1" etc but the content (live tiles VS iPhone 16 icon desktop) is what it is important for me when we speak about my universal communication device.

Stupidly late to the party?
New codebase that burns legacy bridges?
Popping eye candy to catch up with established leader?
Most expensive licensing fees in the industry?
Conflicting mission statements?
Yep, it's a Vista alright. Thank you for pointing what no-one else has!

@soulsolutions i'd still give the iPhone UI a much higher grade. As whilst its "old" (heh) it still has more depth than #Wp7 behind it.

I think this IS the leapfrog release - the point is, you DON'T "need an app for that" because the UI already does it.

Grids of icons are so 90's :P
